As many of you know we are moving shops in just a few weeks time, but as yet we have nobody to officially open the shop. I've had my thinking cap on and I've rejected the idea of doing it myself or giving Sarah the editor of Let's Knit the job. Instead we have decided to let one lucky person from within our crafting community have the honour after all OUR shop is all about community.
So in true Willy Wonka fashion we have issued one golden ticket. I did briefly consider hiding it in a ball of wool but we have that much wool in the shop it may not be found in time for Yarn Shop Day. So instead we are raffling the golden ticket off, all you need to do is call into the shop and purchase a ticket at £1.
Raffle tickets will be on sale until Saturday 20th April, the raffle will be drawn live on Facebook at midday the time we close the current shop for the very last time. You may purchase as many raffle tickets as you wish all that we ask is that you are available on Saturday 27th April at 9 am for the grand opening and that you agree to have your photo printed or published on social media.
The lucky winner of the golden ticket will get to cut the ribbon and declare the new shop 'The Sheep Shed' officially open you will also get the chance to be the first one to look round. I can't guarantee how long I can hold the crowds off for but you should at least get a couple of minutes to take it in.
All money raised from the raffle will be added to our crowdfunding tally and will be spent on fitting the shop out.
We hope you agree the chance to open the shop is a great prize and I am so looking forward to seeing who the lucky person is. Remember this is all part of our Yarn Shop Day celebrations we do so hope you can join us at 46 Kirkgate to join in the celebrations it's going to be one hell of a party.
