Well I have to say this is the first time I've needed to write a what's on guide and please bear in mind this is on top of everything that normally happens in the shop I'm just going to mention the extra special things here.
So I decided this year I was going to be organised and we would actually celebrate British Wool Week. In previous years it's always crept up on me and it has been to late to organize anything. So with that in mind I've only gone and organised not one but two events to celebrate the best of British Wool.
On Saturday 6th October the lovely Joy from The Knitting Goddess will be joining us for a pop up shop. Think hand dyed British yarns in a stunning range of colours and you won't go far wrong. Personally I can't think of a better way of kicking off our Wool Week Celebrations than by caressing hand dyed British Yarns. I'm sure a lot of you will agree and I hope to see as many of you there as possible. If that wasn't enough we will also be hosting a Macmillian coffee morning at the same time so you can munch cake, have a good chat and buy some British wool all in one go.
The following Saturday 13th October we will be hosting a West Yorkshire Spinners Trunk Show, my rep Janice is going to load up her car with garments and join us at the shop around 11. This will be your chance to see and touch garments knitted in a range of West Yorkshire Spinners yarns as well as hear how West Yorkshire Spinners turn British fleeces into the yarn you buy in our shop. I'm sure it will be a fascinating day and we will be offering a 10% discount on any West Yorkshire Spinners yarn purchased on the day. Please do come down and show your support for this truly British wool, West Yorkshire Spinners are one of the few companies that spins British yarn right here in Britain.
So that's our British Wool Week celebrations but we are not finished there. We are pleased to announce on Wednesday 31st October we will be hosting a Stylecraft Fashion Show. Join us at the shop from 6 pm to see our real life models (aka the knit n natter ladies) strutting there stuff on our very own catwalk. This is your chance to see the latest Stylecraft yarns knitted up we will also be launching two brand new yarns that night. Your are more than welcome to try the garments on for yourself as well. Spend over £30 on Stylecraft yarns at the fashion show and we will give you a free Stylecraft pattern of your choice.
