Can you believe it's September already? it only seems two minutes since I was on holiday and now the kids are back at school and autumn is on its way.
I thought I would take a few minutes to tell you about all the events and workshops we have got planned for the autumn. You might want to make yourself a cuppa and get yourself comfy this is going to take a while.
The good news for those of you that haven't noticed we have our brand new fully customized workshop area up and running. We ran the first workshops in there last weekend and the space worked really well. Part of the reason we moved and gave up the shop front was so we could run more workshops and events and also have several things going on at once. Last weekend we ran three workshops plus knit n natter and still had room for customers to get in the shop as well. It was great to see so many people using the building and expanding there knowledge.
So here goes we will start with September. Saturday 14th September we will be hosting a Sardines for Tea pop up shop. This is FREE event you can pick up there latest kits and talk all things toy knitting with the designer Sue. Sardines for Tea are a local family company and it would be great if you could come down and show them some support.
We also welcome back the lovely Sarah from Adors Design who will be running a teacup needle felting workshop. What Sarah doesn't know about needle felting isn't worth knowing. We have a couple of places left and you can book them here.
Our next sewing workshop is on Saturday 21st September, you get to make a project bag, zipper pouch and have a go with press studs and make a DPN holder. You can book the project bag sewing workshop here.
The next free event is on Saturday 5th October and this time your in for a treat. The super talented sock knitter Christine Perry aka Winwick Mum will be with us for the day talking about all things socks. You will have the chance to purchase her books and get them signed we will also be launching our sock club for 2020 and off course there will be cake. Knit n natter will be running all day so grab your socks and come down and join us.
I'm not finished with October yet. On Saturday 19th October we will be hosting a pop up book shop. I know there's quite a few people that are looking forward to this one already. There will be loads of books available to browse and purchase on the day, not just craft books but a whole range of books. It would be a great time to start your Christmas shopping, there will be discounts and special offers as well. I hope you can come down and support this event if it goes well it's likely to become an annual event.
Are we all still sitting comfortably there's just November to talk about now. Tuesday 19th November see's the return of the Stylecraft Trunk Show your chance to see the latest yarns and garments.
You can tell I'm running out of steam. Just one last thing to mention on Saturday 7th December we have a weave your own willow wreath workshop and decorate a wreath workshop. Something completely different for us but its a good chance to try your hand at a new skill and you will be taught by an expert.
Other than that the only thing to mention is on top of everything mentioned above we host four knit n natter sessions a week. These sessions are free and new members are welcome to join us. Knit n natter happens every week on Monday 12.30 - 2.30, Tuesday 12.30 - 2.30, Wednesday 4 - 7 pm and Saturday 10 - 12.
Phew after writing that lot I think I've earned myself a cup of tea.
