Exciting News: Wool n Stuff is Coming to The Elizabethan Gallery
We are thrilled to announce that Wool n Stuff will be moving to a stunning new home — The Elizabethan Gallery on Brook Street, Wakefield — in summer 2027. Nestled between Trinity Walk and the city's bus station, this iconic building sits right at the heart of Wakefield city centre, making it easier than ever to visit us.
Why Are We Moving?
Kirkgate has been our beloved home for the past seven years, and we fully expected to stay. Earlier this year, however, we learned that our current building falls within the Ridings redevelopment area, meaning a move was unavoidable. While leaving Kirkgate was never part of the plan, we are embracing this new chapter with real excitement — and we think you will too.
About The Elizabethan Gallery
The Elizabethan Gallery is one of Wakefield's most distinctive and historically significant buildings, now in the hands of a local family with decades of trading experience in the city centre. As its new custodians, we are committed to carefully restoring and preserving this remarkable space for future generations, while bringing it back into active, vibrant public use.
The Restoration Journey
The restoration of The Elizabethan Gallery represents an exciting opportunity — not only to secure Wool n Stuff's future in Wakefield, but to breathe new life into a cherished piece of the city's heritage. We will be sharing regular updates on the restoration progress over the coming months, and we cannot wait to welcome you through the doors in 2027.
